It's not a myth that about 50% of Baby Boomers got divorced. Gen X and Millennials witnessed it growing up and said 'forget marriage.' Now about 50% of Americans are single, which explains why the divorce rate is so low these days. Most Gen X and Millenial men aren't giving up 50% of their assets just to have a woman to sleep with for a few years before she says 'I'm not happy and I want 50% of your house, car, and bank account.'

If you’re an attorney and you know this is going on then you as the attorney need to educate the judge. Jump up and down and do not stop pointing this out. If you think that getting psychologists involved is helpful then you too are just playing a game. The practice of having a tactic needs to stop. If you know it’s happening then YOU are implored to stop it through the system. I’m not sure why attorneys feel this is so hard.

Personality disorder is painful for the carrier and the one aroud him. Loving someone with personality disorder and seeing that person self destroy is a sad sight. Hopefully I've never been with a narcissist or a psychopath yet. I'll do my best to avoid those two extrem.

This just occurred yesterday in the Young Thug trial, in Georgia. The defense attorney found out about the prosecutor, judge and a defense cooperating witness having ex parte meetings. The judge demanded the defense attorney to disclose the person who revealed the meeting. The defense attorney refused and was jailed, during the trial.

99% of the time you don't need a attorney. Just dont talk to them. It's their job to prove you are guilty, its not your job to prove you are innocent. Don't waist money on a attorneys right away. 99% of the time if you don't talk to them even for a minute they will eventually give up and close the case. (From someone with real world experience on the matter who isn't trying to sell you themselves)

I knew it was a myth! I took a poll on FB and ask how many people got remarried to the “same person” I had 18 responses. I couldn’t believe it. This is a small sample size, but it lets me know that when divorced people REMARRY the same person, those stats aren’t updated. This projection number of 50% discourages people to try and rely on “stats and math” but no one reads the fine print. Thanks for sharing!

What happened is about 50% of Baby Boomers got divorced. Gen X and Millennials lived through that hell of watching their parents get divorced in the 1990's; then Gen X and Millennials decided it wasn't worth it to get married. Now the only people who are getting married are usually older people who will have less divorces. If we included the break up rate instead of the divorce rate, we probably would be at 50% still today because couples that are living together do eventually break up at 50% rate.

Respectfully, I disagree. This a tool to help correct unfair court ordered parenting time. It’s simple in nature, if you violate it that part of the order, it gives the opposing parent grounds to readdress the rights they had previously lost. You cannot make an argument of what is right or wrong based upon the toxicity of the relationship between parents. You simply follow court ordered rules or you’re in violation. Violating should result in a consequence. Just because 2 people who fight and don’t disagree, court ordered anything means you must follow. Stop spreading b/s and excuses. Every case is different.

Also risk of divorce is elevated if you simply fall out of the 25-32 marital age sweet spot. If you’re below 23 risk increases moderately and increases a lot if you’re below 20/21

The real stat that matters is the 10 year mark...90+ % of all marriages fail. You have less than 10 % chance of staying married . That is likely when a man will lose custody of his kids and his belongings. This is a cold hard truth. Guys are wising up.
